Men's Water Polo: Puerto Rico beats Venezuela to finish third in the preliminary round.

Mayagüez, Puerto Rico (July 29, 2010)- The Puerto Ricanmen's water polo team won the right to play in the semifinals today by defeating Venezuela 10-8.


This victory ensures that Puerto Rico and Venezuela meet again tomorrow at 6:15 pm in a semifinal match, where the winner will fight for gold. The best scorer for the Puerto Ricans was Gilberto Rosa witha total of 6 goals. While Venezuela scored with eight different players, but no one scored more than one goal. Puerto Rico dominated the first half 7-4, and even thought they had problems in the last quarter, they displayed tremendous defense to maintain the victory.


They only thing left is to wait for the results of Trinidad Tobago vs. Mexico to see who will be the rival of Colombia tomorrow in the other semifinal match.
