Mayagüez, Puerto Rico (July 29, 2010) – Colombia crowned itself champion of the women's 800 meter race, when Rosibel García timed 2:03:77 in the XXI Central American and Caribbean Games today.

Her time was good enough to defeat silver medallist, Andrea Ferris, from Panama, who crossed the finish line with a time of 2:04:16. Bronze was for Guyana's Marian Burnett, who had a 2:04:45 mark.
