HANDBALL
First appearance in the Central American and Caribbean Games: 1993

Even though a rudimentary form was played in the North of Europe since the late 19th Century, handball did not have an International Federation until 1928, and since then, it has grown to become one of the most widely-played sports on the planet. And with good reason, handball is a sport that is easy to understand and play. The matches, divided into two periods of 30 minutes each, are played between two teams of seven athletes that take, throw, pass and bounce the ball with their hands all with one clear objective: scoring the most goals to reach victory.
