Water Skiing
First appearance in the Central American and Caribbean Games: 2010
Water skiing is a sport that combines surfing and skiing. It will be held for the first time in the Mayagüez 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. High speeds are reached in this sport, which requires good reflexes and balance. Participants ski over the water holding onto a tow rope pulled by a highly powered motor boat performing spectacular maneuvers on one or two skis. There are five water skiing events: slalom skiing, trick skiing, wakeboarding, ski jump and ski racing.
